Weekly Quilt Series In 2007, my new year's resolution was to do more art each week. I started a weekly quilt series, where each work is 6 inches square. I truly enjoyed making each one as unique as possible. It was a great way to see all of my work together, and notice my own trends in my work. 2008 Weekly Quilt Series In 2008, I continued the weekly quilt idea, but resolved to work in themes grouped by month. The size of these quilts were all 6" x6". January 2008's theme is "line". February 2008's theme is "pomegranate"
March 2008's theme is "hip hop words". March had 5 weekends in it, so I made one extra for March.
April 2008's theme is "recycled materials".
May 2008's theme is "Pears"
June 2008's theme was "Quilting designs"
July 2008's theme was "Japanese Dolls"
August's theme was "Robots"
September's theme was "Family Collage".
October's theme is "Monsters"
November's theme was "Leaves"
December's theme was "Gears"
January 2009's theme was "Japanese Culture"
February's theme was "Broken Hearts"- an embroidery project on old cutter quilt pieces.
March's theme is "Historic Ladies Collage"
April's theme was "Recycled Materials"
May's theme was "Shape and Perspective"
June's theme was "Unusual Animals"
July's theme was "Unusual Fruit"
August's theme was "The Art of Fabric Manipulation"
Year 4 was a different technique each week. I tended to use an octopus theme if I didn't have an idea of what to make with each technique. It was a very fun year!
Year 5 is coming soon!
