Monthly Journal Quilt Series 2008

I resolved in 2008 to also do a Monthly Journal quilt, in the style of the QuiltArt mailing list's previous years. My size requirement was 8 1/2 x 11 inches. However, my full time job became quite busy mid year, and this project was sidetracked. The theme I used for the series was "personal shrines", and each quilt has a subject that's some kind of "favorite" of mine. From paintings, to movies, books, toys and more, these littel quilts were very personal. I just ran out of free time to make anymore of them that year.

Weight Loss Series

I started these little quilts as a way to keep me going while losing weight, and they really have.  Each 10 lbs. I lose is another quilt I make.  Along the way I made some others, to represent a shoe size, 5 dress sizes, and two ring sizes. The "W" is part of the series but was given as a gift to my Weight Watchers leader Wendy. The final picture is me and the quilts being hung in a quilt show together.
