Various Works from the OK
Quilters Study group

One Color-Two Blocks- We decided to do a project based
on one color with two blocks. The rules were they
had to be 36" square total, they had to use the
value of one color, and had to be made up of two
"blocks". My color was orange, and my
blocks were a flying geese, and a half square triangle
block thingie. There are 36 different oranges in my
quilt. The first picture is before it was quilted and
embellished with a giant car flame detail.

One of our first projects on the OK Quilter's Bee was
a pieced project to show perspective from Ruth McDowell's
book. Each of us made the same project, and they
looked so different! (I eventually gave this quilt
to my brother.)

This was my chance to do a photo
replique quilt. The first is the one in progress,
when he looked like the Maytag man instead of a military
officer. This is my grandfather's WWII military
photo. I gave this quilt to my father, so the completed
quilt is show with him.

Curved Piecing - We wanted to learn about curved
piecing. I chose to do my quilt in pastels, as I
don't do much with those colors. This had to
be a block of original design. Also, I got to
stretch my embellishment skills.
